Fuselage width matters.
One of the easiest ways to narrow the lineup is to think about cockpit size. A smaller aircraft may be the best fit for low cost and light weight. A wider aircraft may be the better fit if you want more room and comfort.

Where do you fit?
Aspiring Pilots
You do not need to come from an aviation family or own a hangar to start. If you have the dream, Mini-Max USA can help you take the first practical step.
RC Aircraft Pilots
You already understand the magic of flight. A Mini-Max is the next step: real controls, real wings, real air, and a cockpit you can sit in.
Woodworkers
This is where craftsmanship meets aviation. Wood, fabric, careful measurements, and patient hands turn raw material into something unforgettable.
Retirees
Build at your pace, enjoy the process, and fly something that has your fingerprints in it.
Schools
A Mini-Max project can teach measurement, woodworking, teamwork, shop skills, problem-solving, and aviation basics.
Still deciding?
Ask yourself these questions.
Do I want Part 103 simplicity or experimental capability?
If you want the simplest possible path, start with the 22" Part 103 Ultralight family. If you want more power and flexibility, compare the experimental, VW, and V-Twin families.
Do I want 2-stroke, VW 4-stroke, or V-Twin 4-stroke power?
2-stroke models keep the traditional lightweight Mini-Max personality. VW models bring classic 4-stroke homebuilt character. V-Twin models represent the newer forward-looking side of the lineup.
Do I want mid-wing or high-wing?
Nothing flies quite like a Mid-Wing Mini-Max. For the feeling of wearing the aircraft like a backpack and it being a part of you, select a mid-wing model. If high-wing visibility matters to you, compare the Hi-Max models, V-Hi-Max, Hi-Max Sport, Super Sport, or AeroMax.
How much cockpit room do I want?
The Part 103 Ultralight family uses 22" wide fuselages. The V-Twin Sport models use 24" wide fuselages. The V-Twin Super Sport models use 26" wide fuselages. Or, for the ULTIMATE in space, our SuperMax cockpit is 28" wide!
Where do the SuperMax and AeroMax fit?
The 1850V SuperMax belongs in the VW-powered family. The 1950S AeroMax belongs in the V-Twin-powered family. Both are different, more presence-driven options for builders looking beyond the traditional Mini-Max families.
What is the lowest-friction first purchase?
Plans are usually the best first step. They let you study the aircraft, understand the project, compare models, and make a confident decision before ordering larger kit sections.
Am I building for myself or for a school program?
If you are building for a school, STEM, CTE, aviation, or shop program, please contact Mini-Max USA so we can help you choose a practical starting point.
