Plans & Manuals
Every Mini-Max starts with plans. Study the aircraft, compare models, plan your build, and take the first real step before ordering sub-kits or a full aircraft kit.
Best first step
Not ready for a full kit? Perfect.
Plans let you learn the aircraft before you commit to a larger purchase. You can study the structure, understand the build path, compare models, plan your shop, and decide whether to build from plans, order sub-kits, or go all in with a full kit.
Choose with confidence
Use plans to turn the dream into a real project.
Study the design
Get familiar with the airframe, structure, parts, and build sequence before buying larger kit sections.
Compare models
Decide between Part 103, 2-stroke sport, VW 4-stroke, 4-stroke Sport, Super Sport, Hi-Max, SuperMax, or AeroMax paths.
Plan your budget
Map out plans, sub-kits, full kits, engines, covering, paint, instruments, tools, and builder-assist options.
Start low-risk
Plans are the lowest-friction first purchase and the easiest way to move from “someday” to “I’m actually doing this.”
How to pick
Not sure which plans to buy?
Start with the aircraft family that matches your mission. If you want the simplest path, look at the ultralight models. If you want airport flexibility, travel capability, controlled airspace, or more equipment options, compare the experimental / light sport aircraft.

Plans FAQ
Common questions before buying plans.
Which plans should I buy first?
If you are unsure, start by comparing model families. The 1103R is the simplest Mini-Max ultralight path, while experimental / light sport models give more flexibility for airports, equipment, and travel goals.
Are plans refundable?
Plans, manuals, drawings, and proprietary materials are generally not refundable once issued or shipped. Check the product page and current Mini-Max USA policy before purchase.
Can I build from plans only?
Depending on the model, your skills, tools, and sourcing ability, plans can support a plans-built path. Many builders still choose sub-kits or full kits to save time and reduce sourcing work.
Can schools buy plans?
Yes. Plans can be a practical starting point for high school, college, STEM, CTE, aviation, shop, EAA, or youth build programs.
Are plans included with a full kit?
Full kit product pages should state exactly what is included. If you already purchased plans and later buy a kit, contact Mini-Max USA before ordering so we can help you choose the right path.
